01. Air Micrometer Principle
Air gaging is a relative measurement, which is based on the upper and lower standards to achieve precision measurement. The dimensions of the upper and lower standard parts are called absolute dimensions, and the dimensions calculated by the sensor are called relative dimensions, and the absolute dimensions are the key element to guarantee the measurement results. The measuring device in air gaging is called the pneumatic calibration, which includes the air gaging head and the upper and lower standard master. The air gaging head provides the sensing function for dimensional measurement, while the upper and lower standards provide the reference for measurement.
The measurement principle of air micrometer is comparative measurement method. Its measurement method is to convert the length signal into air signal, through the scale of the glass tube inside the buoy to show the value, called buoy type air micrometer; or through the gas-electric converter to convert the gas signal into electric signal by the light tube composed of light column to show the value, called electronic column type air micrometer.
